Little Cruised People: Early Days (1/3)

*warning you may think I'm a huge twelvie by the end of this post*

Day 1

Getting on the boat + getting used to the massive moving thing

We were all like wtf its so big. (ha ha)

Didn't bring sis along because she was being all vegetarian and charitable in India. 

The ship had this thing on every level which was like a weird map. They also had interactive boards everywhere so you could check if there were any shows/events happening. 

This was our room as we found it. 2 beds for 4 people. We were freaking out and tryna figure out how to fit 2 ppl on each bed comfortably. Then we called housekeeping and were like wtf????  They were like yeh you're in the right room but bunk beds come out from the ceiling so there are actually 4 beds. Still it was soooo cramped for four people and their luggages.

For our first meal we went to Windjammer which was this huge all you can eat buffet place. Didn't take any pics of it on the first day tho :( We were so amazed like OMG FREE ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!

Then for dinner we went to the Sapphire Dining Room which was a super fancy FREE a la carte dining place.

We were all like wtf did we do to deserve this. The waiters were super nice and like poured your water, got you whatever you wanted, GAVE YOU BREAD.

The food was either average or good. There were like snails, prawns, fish, steaks, fancy smoothie entrees and our favourite: FREE FRESH LEMONADE!!!

 Then we went exploring around the boat.

Then we chilled. I actually have no idea what we did on the first day. Or on any days that weren't island days tbh. Also the boat actually rocks a lot lol it was so hard to get used to. On the first day we were kinda getting headachy cus of the swaying but eventually we got used to it. 

Day 2

Formal night 1 + pub crawl

Yassss first and best drunk night. LOL.

The cruise has 2 formal nights were everyone dresses up nicely to go to dinner. 

Struggles of getting ready for formal night when you only have 45 mins.

The ship was like partners with dreamworks so they always had parades and stuff with characters from Madagascar/Shrek/Kung Fu Panda

 After that we were like omg we got all dressed up for no reason. Maybe we should get drunk!!! Then someone was like LETS DO A BAR CRAWL!!

LOL so that started our first hectic and arguably funnest drunk night.

Started bar/pub crawl at the Pig & Whistle. Drinks throughout the cruise were $10 USD which was a whopping $15 AUD.

Anyway this was us sober. We pretty much all ordered a cocktail. They were all really mild except for Andrew's which was like all alcohol. *I changed my shoes to thongs because ceebs running around in heels I'm not metal enough for that* (That was also a great thing about the cruise if you forgot something it would be a 2 min walk back to your cabin to get it.

 Tina, Amy and Andrew started getting a bit of asian flush lol.

Then I think we went to the R Bar but left straight away because it was really awks and there were only old people there. But we took photos??? Idek.

Then we chilled for a bit then went to the High Notes Nightclub which was on the highest level of the boat.

Some more drinks. Tina's frozen mojito was the bomb. I got an apple martini 2ND WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE it tasted like pure vodka with a lil bit of apple flavouring. So I chugged that shit down cus I wasn't even going to try and enjoy it slowly.

Andrew got a long island which I think was the first long island of the cruise. We all tried it and realised it was so fucking rank and that's what we should be getting for the rest of the cruise if we just want to get drunk.

After our second drink we kind of let it set in on the dance floor haha. Idk how to dance I kind of just bop around a lot but yah it was fun.

Then we spotted our parents and we were like fuck lets act normal because I don't think they'll be a fan of underage drinking in a public space hahah. But we just ended up dancing with them??? So it was fine. 

Then we left high notes to continue our bar crawl. We kind of took a break and went to the arcade. Then the alcohol started to really set it.  

Andrew probably had the most alcohol in his drinks because they were so ratchet so he just lay on the floor for a while. Amy and I thought we were the funniest shits and started pretending his butt was a cash register.

At this point Eugene and Stephen started to get a little concerned hahah. But we all knew we weren't drunk enough so we popped down to the Tavern to get more drinks.

We ordered "EXTRA STRONG LONG ISLANDS. EXTRA STRONG. EXTRA STRONG!!!" The people at the bar were kinda looking at us like uhhhhhhhhhh idk if they can handle this shit?? But we were like WE WANT EXTRA STRONG!!!

So they gave us 3 extra strong long islands. Andrew chugged his again and Amy and I sipped ours pretty quickly. We were all like SEE WHAT DID WE SAY WE CAN HANDLE IT.

We were completely fine one minute. Then everything went blurry.

We went crazy we couldn't even sit straight legit. I was trying so hard to sit still but my body was just not having it. And this is where Eugene stopped taking photos because she was too busy trying to take care of us. We were all screaming and shouting and crying and rolling around on the floor. 

Eugene and Stephen tipped the bar people $25 for dealing with our shit. Andrew stumbled off and was about to start gambling but Eugene stopped him lol. The sober ones pulled us out of the bar and tried to feed us "vodka and coke" but we were like OMG THEY'RE EVIL ITS JUST COKE THEY ARE LYING!!!! They tried to make us drink some "vodka" but we knew it was just water. They so sneaky. 

So yeh couldn't see straight after that we were running around screaming and laughing. Someone said pub crawl just as the elevator opened so I screamed PUB CRAWL!! and tried to crawl into the public elevator. 

Andrew tried to get another drink back at the R Bar but they wouldn't serve him cus he was so intoxicated. He almost vomited in the bar but he swallowed it back up. 

Amy and Andrew wanted to race up the stairs to the 12th floor but we all turned around for one sec and Andrew as gone. 

The sober ones made Amy and I go back to our rooms and stay there. Then we started bitching about how they were evil and tried to stop us from being drunk. Eugene, Stephen and Tina looked all around the boat for Andrew for a very long time but they couldn't find him.

Then we heard a knock at the door and Andrew came in HAHAHAH he somehow found his way back to our cabin?? Apparently he had followed a chef to the restricted 1st floor where he got questioned by security and I think they took down his details and told him to go back to his cabin. He went back to his cabin but no one was inside so he stood outside his cabin for 10 mins then decided to come to ours.

So now it was the three drunk people in on cabin and all the sober ones outside trying to find Andrew. So I was like hmmmm I need to somehow get Eugene, Stephen and Tina back into our cabin but I have no idea where they are!!

So I stood out on a balcony looking over the promenade and screamed EUGENEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! and then she screamed back from some random part of the boat SERENA?!??!?!! I could see people down at the promenade pointing and me like wtf is this girl doing but I gave no fucks because reduced inhibitions and all that. So yah they all came back after that and then we all went to bed lol.

Day 3

Chilling + attempted bar crawl

So this was our fabulous deck. Two pools, a bajillion spas. We just hopped between pool and spa when it got too cold/too hot. They showed outdoor movies so you could just sit in the spa, chill and watch. They showed actual good movies like Inside Out, The Walk, Everest etc.

 Not many Eugene photos taken on the third day so idk what we did. Probs just swimming, gymming, eating.

They were making lots of seafood noodles on the deck. I hate seafood but it was actually so good. I think we went ice skating on this day?? or not idk. But yeh the ship had an ice skating rink lol it was so great.

Housekeepers folded animal towels for us (this was one in my parent's room)

At night we stumbled upon the Johnny Rockets part of the ship and there was this statue that looked remarkably lifelike!!@#!!!! Note the sarcasm bcus it did not look life like at all but Amy thought it was a real person for the longest time.

Not sure if this was the night we watched the comedy show or not. But yeh I don't think I'm a comedy person because nothin was that funny to me. But it was at the La Scala theatre which was this pretty massive theatre. They showed movies there almost every night in 3D. We didn't watch any of them tho because we figured we could just watch them back on land. They had Mad Max on, The Martian and others.

 More dinner at Sapphire.

We started off our second bar crawl with four long islands at the Schooner Bar. 

 Then crossed over to the Pig & Whistle where we got some nicer cocktails because I was feeling sick from the alcohol taste. I think that was a pretty sad night. I dont remember what happened but no one was feeling it (except for me). I think Andrew had a headache? I don't remember soz it was pretty uneventful. I think it was the only night Stephen got actual drunk. He's such a strange drunk. He's completely normal in his head except he can't walk in a straight line. Like he'll just be talking normally then almost fall over. So I think it was a early night. I ended up being the most sober after Eugene so we slept in Stephen and Andrew's room that night and left the rest in our cabin.

Ms Bates

Is it too late now to say sorry?

My year 5s at Jimmy have been the subject of my nightmares for the past few weeks. They are so loud all the time and when I tell them to be quiet they stay quiet for about 5 seconds and then they start talking again. One boy just doesn't do his work even when I tell him to. 

So what to do. Its so bad because the students who do want to learn can't because everyone is so loud and I'm too preoccupied with trying to shout over them.

This is the most struggle thing I have ever had to deal with. FD brought up the fact that my situation was pretty similar to Ms Bates' when we had her in year 10/11 I don't remember.

Basically almost the whole class would be so talking during the classes and she could never control us because she wasn't scary enough. This carried on throughout the year and eventually she gave up and literally just wrote stuff on the board without caring whether we were watching or not. She didn't even talk lol she just wrote. And then the next year she moved to a farm and looked after her birds. Starting to think she retired because she was sick of our shit. 

I'm getting close to that point...I want to just give up but I can't because:

a) the children wouldn't be learning maths

b) their parents would kill me

c) I would get fired

Tutoring is so bloody stressful. I was about to take a nap today but I kept tossing and turning for an hour thinking about how to deal with this class in the coming weeks. 

I talked to the tutor who had them beforehand and he said there were never any issues with noise. So I'm like??????????? And I can't impose this like scary and strict personality because it just ain't me. I'm such a ~do whatever you want~ person. So struggle.

Also starting uni tomorrow so like how am I going to juggle uni, tutoring and a uni life? I don't think its going to happen. Already anticipating I won't be going to lectures after like the 2nd week.

Parra Shopping

Sooo was a lazy ass and didn't go to women in engineering morning tea today....

I wanted to stay close to home so I could have some time to prep tutoring work.

So went to parra and met up with Feng who got ditched by her sister.

I bought many things:

Understanding Year 9 & 10 Maths - for tutoring purposes of course. (no, before I start uni I really want to revisit what I did in Mr Stoke's class just for da lols).

Room by Emma Donoghue to supplement my latest obsession with the movie....I remember when I read the Martian there were so many more details in it that weren't in the movie. But now I realise that may not be the case for room because the author wrote the screenplay anyway????? But we'll see.

Some other book that I forgot the name of - it was about some boy in The Hitler Youth army

Some binders

A black laptop case - to try and make myself more invisible. Jk it was the only cheapish one that was protective and didn't look like hardcore armour.

Idk what else I bought I'm tired.

Ate PappaRich with Feng it was pretty good but milk tea was too sweet today but w/e we will survive.

Had last supper with sis before she leaves for china tmr. ATe at Fat Panda at Canley Heights it was so good.

Wednesday @ O-Week

Met up with Joyce at 9am because she needed to go to her faculty welcome at 10am.

Got student ID, for once I did not look like a total spazz. Signed up to Arc. Uni is getting so real :O

Then Joyce left to go to her faculty welcome, I went to IT support to ask about Microsoft Office + how to access zPass email because I'm a noob lol. If y'all didn't know, Microsoft Office is free lmao I'm so noob. 

Anyway I met up with LI-ANUS and we just sat at the brick wall in the quad because it was too hot to deal with the sun. We literally sat for an hour??? Bumped into Brendan from Peak and he was telling me how all the tutors in training from our grade were going interstate so they didn't really have anyone left except for like 2 people. 

Brendan was like a little child and kept getting lost. Lianne and I would be a stall then we'd turn around and he would be gone and nek minnit we'd run into him again and he was like I was right next to you!! 

Anyway I joined all these random societies and clubs: Rubik Society, FoodSoc, BakeSoc, CookSoc, VSA@UNSW, EngSoc, Mechatronics Society, Engineers Without Borders, Engineers Australia, some charity that I forgot the name of, Game of Thrones Society, Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee (OMG!!), some finance thing for the freebies...

ALSO I WON THE MINI PING PONG SET FROM COMMBANK!! 

Got too many freebies today omg.

Saw Anna, Melody and Jasmine today. I told them I joined the Rubik's society and they were like omg bad decision LOL. 

They said it was in this huge room, and in the middle of the of the room was this one table with a small group of people around it all solving Rubik's cubes.

A WHOPPING 272 MEMBERS!! Only ONE person on my friends list is part of the society omg.

After uni I went to Amy's house to tutor Kevin and her mother would not let me go home by myself so I stayed for dinner then she drove me home lol. 

ALSO my face is so damn sunburnt. There's a strip of my face that is very very very red.

Mi Birthday party

Had my birthday party with family and relos on Sunday night at Marconi Club Star Buffet wow much wow. Yes it was very early because sis is going to China next Friday. Dunno why she needed to be there tho????? ask my parents lol.

Didn't really have much of an appetite so defs did not eat my $26 worth.

It was a pretty dull affair. Idk I was in a bad mood after tutoring so I didn't feel like celebrating and also I'm so socially awkward even around some of my fam friends so :/

I feel like the tradition to throw a big 18th party is kinda fading out. Idk it doesn't seem that fun anymore.

I remember when I was a kid I would attend all these peoples 18ths and 21sts and I would think to myself like wow can't wait till I'm this old and I'm going to have this huge party and it'll be so fun! I had heaps of fun at my older cousins' 18ths so like wow I was so optimistic as a kid. Now I look back I realise the diff between me and Manly, Roxie, Theresa, Rebecca, Jason, Wendy VS me is that I am very quiet and very introverted so I don't have such a big circle of friends and I just generally doubt everything I say and do so you can't exactly enjoy life with my attitude yenno.

Just missing the days when I was a kid and I had friends that I could confidently say were my friends and idk everything is just strange nowadays.

Nothing I do these days is autonomous. Like I say something but in my mind I'm thinking oh why am I saying this or when someone else says something I'm like why is their tone like that.

Its like I'm reflective to the point that its affecting everything I do.

Still waiting for this weird phase of my life to pass. Maybe I should stop writing about it so I can forget to think about these things.

Anyway this post took a pretty dark turn.

THESE ARE MY FAM FRIENDS. They are so cute. The girl is so hyper but asks a lot of intellectual questions like "DO YOU KNOW SCIENCE???". The little brother (YES HES A LOT BIGGER BUT HES THE YOUNGER ONE) is actually crazy. He makes me crack up all the time. He comes into my house and opens the piano and starts banging on keys even when I tell him no. He ALWAYS has to touch everything he sees. Like even if his mum grabs his hand, once she lets go he will touch it again. He gives absolutely no fucks. At my mum's childcare, when the phone rings he shouts in Chinese "LISTEN TO THE PHONE LISTEN TO THE PHONE LISTEN TO THE PHONE". When a train comes, he'll spin you around, then he'll point to it and say "TRAIN IS COMING".

Anyway the little girl made her own ice cream and put sprinkles on it so apparently it was pink ice cream now.

 there was a cool lighter it was like a jet lighter or some shit much wow the flame shot out kinda like a bunsen burner. When I turned it sideways the flame was still like straight so it just always shot outwards even when you were holding it sideways. If that made no sense that's what its like being my tutor student.
