This Morning

sitting in da toilet at our airbnb waiting for someone from VSA to call me for my video interview for marketing director. Sigh I just woke up and legit look like a zombie, the toilet is in the background and all our deo, toothpaste and facewash is on show.

A tad bit nervous for my interview. Fuck Precious just added me on Skype LOL I want to die.

Tonight

Ended up getting the marketing position. Literally only 1 other person applied for it. 

We went to Disney Sea today!! We walked 14 km lool I'm so dead. Japan Disney Sea was really fun though. All the staff had the biggest grins on their faces and were super polite. We were wondering whether they got punished if they were caught not smiling because they were so chipper the whole time whereas people in Australian theme parks look like they wanna kill themselves and I think that would be most people if they had to work in a theme park.

Lines weren't actually that bad. Longest we had to wait was 1 hour. During the wait for Indiana Jones I taught Feng and FD how to count in Viet and I died laughing cus FIONA DENG WAS HORRIBLE. Made me realise how up and down Viet is. The rides weren't that thrilling but the shows were good.

Also watched this weird musical in Japanese about some Shadow Land or something. Production was soooo amazing though for just a theme park show. They had two dancers on wires doing all these flips and shit on a stage angled at 90 degrees idk it was so cool!!

Had some oily af KFC that was 20% surcharge cus it was past 11 pm like nty prefer Australian KFC for sure. Finally found something that Japan is worse than Australia at lol.

Federer won Aus Open!!! We were at Disney Sea watching the Little Mermaid King Triton musical (which was very good fk I was so mesmerised when Ariel was floating in the air doing tumble turns and shit like damn... better than a light show) and it was sometime during "A Part of This World" and "Under The Sea" when I kept updating the scores and he raced from like 4-1 to 6-1 in a few minutes. 

Fiona saw fip's snap and was like "Why is Federer a goat?". I didn't know whether she was being serious or not HAHHAHA. Read that there was some controversy about how the organisers favoured Federer throughout the whole tournament by letting him play at night, closing the roof etc which kindaaaa has some truth to it but w/e the goat is here to stay

or he might randomly announce he's retiring whilst he's at the top of his game?? who knows.

I also NEED a trailer for The Miseducation of Cameron Post it sounds soooooooo my type of movie. Chloe Grace Moretz's career is finally getting revived after Kick-Ass. It won the Jury Prize at Sundance so I'm keen keen keen. Realise I sound so bratty over this whole post its like I don't appreciate the privilege of travelling but I do

Currently in our shitty airbnb in Shinjuku Tokyo thinking its been a while since I blogged.

Don't think I've ever been away from family this long before and I'm legitimately missing them. Or I'm just missing the comfort of having a home. Or I'm just tired of wasting so much money. Or I'm just done with eating all the time. Or all of the above?

Travelling is such a struggle sometimes lol. We legitimately could've stuffed our trip into 2 weeks into 3 but I didn't know things would cost so much and there wouldn't actually be that much to do here. 

Tokyo is good for the food and that's about it. Shopping is alright too but I don't really like shopping so when Feng and FD go shop I just find somewhere to sit and go on my phone. Plus my bank account is at an all time low (like its down to before I started working after HSC) so bye savings and I'm just sad.

I get randomly annoyed and like idk I just wanna sleep all day so there's that too but I can't do that cus we're in a different country and we gotta make the most of it but ugh alternating between periods of highs and lows lmao. 

Also its so cold here so that doesn't help.

Keen to go home and crawl back into my bed.

Not that I don't like Korea/Japan its just been too fucking long and I'm getting so depresso over how little money I have fml. All we do is legit eat, walk around aimlessly, stop and go on our phones, then eat again whilst looking at our phones lmao fun

WIND RIVER (2017)

BOOM BOOM POW POW would be the words to describe this movie. It's very eery, kinda slow, but boy does it pay off. There is so much tension building up throughout the movie and I felt low-key stressed for the characters throughout the whole thing. 

Long story short: a girl is found dead barefoot in the snow in a normally quiet, uber cold Indian Reserve and Hawk-Eye and Scarlet Witch have to solve the case.

Another takeaway from this was that the girl who got murdered is really pretty. Top acting from everyone including Jacob Black's father.

Quickly checking in from the freezing cold of South Korea. I'm like deliberating whether or not I should quit blogging because I'm kinda ceebs now. I do this during uni as a form of procrastination so ehhhh....I have sold my soul for too long.

This movie was fun and all but seemed a bit amateurish?? Idk like I get the sense the director didn't really know what he was doing because the pacing was a bit all of the place, the movie ended abruptly, there were multiple messages and it wasn't very focused. Also so baited the most screen time Natasha Bordizzo got was in the background when someone was talking. So sad. 

BUT I LOVE FUN AND THIS WAS FUN LMAO this is the kind of movie my mum would like.

potatoes sleepover

uhhh someone tell me what the fuck happened to snapchat.

Yesterday trains were screwed so I got to Project at 11 instead of 10. Had a mini meeting with Isuru, Amy and Eddie but I had nothing to contribute so I just kinda stood there pondering how much work Amy and I needed to do before we left for our respective holidays.

Then had a FLIPPIN DELICIOUS brunch at Flower Child cafe at Chatswood Westfield.

French toast, bacon and egg burger, eggs Benedict!!! (classic cafe food yummmmm)

Stephen was so sick and kept coughing everywhere and Amy was like I don't wanna get sick before my trip and guess the fuck what. IM SICK NOW.

We went to the pet store to look at the animals and I legitimately have a newfound appreciation for cats now. They're so cuteeeeeeee and clean.

Met up with Lizzie and went to Kmart and the dollar store to look for cat care things but there was nothing that I wanted :( 

Amy and Stephen were both zombies so they left and then Lizzie was hungry so we had some kebab plate thing but only ate it for the salad. 

Took a bus to Mascot and then Brenda picked us up. "IM IN THE CAR PARKED REALLY FAR FROM THE CURB" hahahah she wasn't kidding about how bad she was at parkinG... when we got to Niina's she hit the curb then reversed the car's butt back into oncoming traffic O_O lowkey concerned. 

Then we began the eating. Niina's mum showed us how to make really good takoyaki and we worked out that we each ate 14 balls. thats almost one entire tray. We were getting competitive over who could make the best takoyaki but it ended up being really hard to fuck up HAHAHAHA.

Had some weird Turkish fairy floss for dessert that tasted like bread and we died because they actually used wheat to make it

 Then drove to Messina to get more dessert... fk

Put on face masks that made Lizzie look like an Oompa Loompa. Brenda and Niina's one burned apparently HAHAHAHHA. As we were waiting for the face masks to do their shit we sat in the bathroom and talked. They are super reflective and think a lot about their future which I'm kinda like ignoring STILL even though starting 3rd year now. sighs

Then they all went to bed. I couldn't sleep so I went on twitter in the dark. Some gems:

I went home (trains were finally fixed omfg), played with cat and slept for 5 hours. I still have a fucking bad headache and don't feel like doing anything. Amy going to NZ tomorrow and is stressed a f, I'm leaving on Saturday so I still have some time to do things. but fuck I'm so ceebs packing.

Got SHAKEN AWAKE by Amy this morning. Slept really late last night because I watched a movie right before bed. Oscar was also very scared of the thunderstorm last night. We had yumm0 salmon and eggs for breakfast then resourced for a bit.

Then we went to Bondi to watch Call Me By Your Name!! We visited Niina at Mappen where she works and she gave us some extra chicken on our rice/noodles. The noodles were SO SO SO YUMMY OMG they were thicc udon noodles with some weird like mayo mixture idk. "CHEF" Niina worked so efficiently.

watched CMBYN and moped around in sadness afterwards. We went to David Jones to look for water bottles.

Then I went homeeeee!! Watched the first episode of Dark, this creepy German TV show, then played with my cat. Trying to resource now.

The five stages of watching this movie:

1. I'm so dumb

Set "somewhere in Northern Italy" but are they speaking Italian? Who knows. They weave in and out of French, German, Greek etc...Then they argue over the origins of the word apricot and whisper about the erotic bodies of ancient statues.

Taking in the world where everyone was always swimming, reading or playing music was super nice but also reminded me of how unartistic our lives are. 

2. Nothing is happening

The pace is so so sooooooooooo slow in the first like 45 minutes of the movie. Literally nothing happens. Elio, the younger dark haired one is just like super horny over Oliver and tries to suss him out but smh Amy was so bored she was picking her nails.

3. Ytb

When everyone is slightly uncomfortable because they're having sex with each other but it was super cute and idk LONG TIME COMING. 

4. Did he just fuck a peach

5. UTTER DESPAIR

Saturday

Amy rocked up at my house like "I'm outside" and woke me up at the ungodly hour of 9:30 am. Had some pork rolls in tow so like I wasn't mad

We did a bit of work but mostly lazed around, took naps, watched some youtube, played with cat. Eh idk. Was so weird cus Amy never comes to my house. She can't drive xd and I live too far.

We explored my room together and found lotsa memories. Like this photo from Duke of Ed where Eugene looks like a penis and we all look like we wanna kill ourselves except for Caitlin. I found some diaries that I forgot I had and laughed. I need to start keeping a diary again they're so funny.

Took the train to city with anus and we had miso for a yumm0 dinner. Got the katsu with egg this time which is so much better than the plain one. There was still way too much food though.

Chronicles of Lit: The Litness Returns

So the gathering on Saturday was in celebration of Niina's return from Turkey and Egypt!! 

Met up with Phuc and we had time to kill because the rest were still at pres. We wandered around city buying food for that hungry boy and then went red bottle to buy soju. Bumped into Lianus, Lizzie, Selina and Heidi on the way because they had YS training day today. Lianne was grandma and wasn't staying for dinner what a nem nuonga 

We joined a bunch of YS at Kobow and then started drinking. Phuc was being so weird and acting awkward even though it wasn't bad because we knew Lizzie and Selina there. Took some shots, then Niina, Brenda and Dani came. Dani was bored at home and it didn't take much to bait her out. 

We couldn't just whip out the soju we bought from red bottle so we poured the shots under the table. 

walked to Star Bar and then people kept buying rounds and I got really drunk. Felt slightly unwell for a tiny bit but after that, I was lit for the rest of the night. I remember seeing Daniel Phu there um... Star Bar was super fun though!! The music was so good. 

Lizzie was lit af and kept screaming whenever someone danced. I don't remember much. of course had the argument with Niina about who was the better person L M A O the only thing I will stand my ground on is how nice she is. A lot of moping "idk why you're my friend" fucking WHY idk.

Somehow teleported to the train station (who with idk??) then got on the last train home.

Asked my cousin to walk me home HAHAH just Serena things I think he thinks I'm an alcoholic. 

My dad was still awake at 2:25 am for some reason?? When I came home, the cat was sitting on the doorstep and my dad yelled at me "GO TO SLEEP DON'T PLAY WITH THE CAT" so I went inside and closed the door but he didn't go to sleep for ages so I just opened the door and played with it anyway. Drunk me didn't care. My dad didn't say anything though lol. 

Rocked my baby to sleep.

had dnm with Selina until 5:40 am cus she's even more nocturnal than me and then went to sleep as the sun was rising and the birds were chirping xD

Sunday

Woke up at 11 ish and couldn't fall back asleep cus it was too damn hot. Played with cat who was sleeping at my door because it was shady. 44 in Carramar today?!?! no thanks.

Watched the first episode of Mindhunter whilst I was eating breakfast and after watching so many David Fincher video essays on Youtube I can actually recognise so many of his techniques. The bar scene where the main couple first meet each other had so much background music it actually obstructed what they were saying which is very reminiscent of the opening scene in The Social Network. Also his signature like yellow/green ish colouring in his movies and weird slow camera movements... etc.

Amy's dad picked me up from home and drove me to Amy's house. We took turns napping and resourcing HAAH. She played her playconomics whilst we finished watching Breaking Dawn Part 2. The ending credits where they play A Thousand Years and actually show every single actor on screen o m g still gets me. 

Now its 12:34 am spent like an hour trying to simulate a ball rolling down a ramp on excel I am going crazy. 

OMFG IM WATCHING CALL ME BY YOUR NAME TOMORROW FUCKING FINALLY YTB I WAS SO KEEN I BOUGHT TICKETS ONLINE ALREADYYYY. Also reinforced the fact that I am sometimes a bitch. 

I know its going to be good but just worried about the pacing of it lol I've heard it can get pretty slow but its #1 on letterboxd this year for a reason??? theres a ghost story esque scene in this I am so keen for omfg
