lotsa travelling
Only slept about 3 hours before my flight because was packing and doing last minute forms on the EWH Dashboard.

Dad drove me to Yiyi's house at 6 am and we got to the airport by 6:30 O_O. Met Amy Zhou who is my hospital partner for the second month when we go out to the rural areas.
Basically, my first month is going to be spent in the capital city of Cambodia (Phnom Penh) where we'll all be learning the language and how to fix medical equipment. School is 8 am - 4 pm nek myself. Also first month I'm in a homestay with Viv Tran, this white girl Tahnee (who is funny because she always references how white she is) and then this chinese girl called Lucy.
but yeah we got to the airport, met up with Amy and we said our goodbyes and I also gave her her birthday present which is just like one month late whatevs. I GOT HER A BIG PORTRAIT OF OSCAR AND A MAKEUP MIRROR AND SOME REDBUBBLE STICKERS XDDDDDD
She gave me a plane letter which was v nice and v messy because she wrote it last minute.
Then she started sobbing wiht Stephen and stephen was crying little man tears and it was quite sad. THEN WE LEFT!!! Had quick maccas breakfast then boarded the flight to our layover stop Bangkok. Flight was hella long, kept drifting in and out of sleep sighs. Stephen didnt' know the plane food was free so he turned down the first meal lmaoooo.
chilled at Bangkok for a few hours and was starting to get hella sick. I was shaking my leg so much this random stranger looked and me and told me to stop.
Then we boarded the flight to Phnom Penh and got there about an hour ish later? Met our homestay DADDY who is super nice, speaks really good english and is a biomedical engineer with his own company!! He drove us back to the house and we met some of the family who are like sooooooooooooooooooo nice and we saw our room and were hella blown away. Thought we were going to be sleeping in the slums but nah full bunk beds with new sheets and pillows and errything + a bathroom connected to our room!!!
basically knocked t f out hhahah. Slept kinda bad cus the aircon was up too high so i had to get down and turn it down a lil.
ANYWAY
First Day of School
We woke up a bit too early cus class was supposed to start at 8 but they pushed it back to 9. The university is kinda small and more like a high school? All the kids have to wear uniforms and like they have a cafeteria and its v chill atmosphere.
Cambodia toilets never have toilet paper as well which is unfortunate. Reminds me of Vietnam so muchhhhh they're basically the same country.
Had some hot af congee for breakfasttt was so good.
For the first two hours we learnt some basic Khmer phrases like hello, how are you, how are you doing etc. our teacher was sooooooooo passionate and cool and probs super gay but like for every new phrase we had to go around the class and pronounce it one by one which sounds like major anxiety but nah he totally wasn't judging and just wanted us to really get the pronunciation right so we wouldn't offend anyone.
Lunch was at the cafeteria, I got this bread with curry thing that was 1.50 USD. everything sooooo cheap here.
AFter lunch, we identified all the stuff in our toolkits. It was soooooooooooo boring.
Then wandered around Odyssey Markets for a lil bit and returned to our homestay where we saw this petrified little cat.

Not feeling homesick yet but its slowly sinking in that I'm going to be here for 2 months...........
