Cambodiyeet: Morale à Zero

the first two lines of this song is the second month in a nutshell. It came on just after I gave up on fixing an IV pole after wrestling with it for like 2 hours. FUCK give me something I can fix smh.
OMfg the little girl at my homestay said she was really sad that I was going to Siem Reap over the weekend and AT SCHOOL SHE DREW ME A PICTURE OF A RABBIT

Yesterday

Lulu Ke is going to be a dentist y'alls IM SO PROUD

First day at the hospital was a lil bit shit. Spoiler alert, the second day was also a lil bit shit. We got driven there by the homestay auntie who works at the government building next door and dropped by Ly Hout to get some coffee.

When we arrived at the hospital, we waited in the office for the BMET to arrive. We practiced our Khmer with the homestay auntie and she was pretty helpful. She's my favourite one out of the all the homestay people because idk she just so nice. We met the BMET who speaks a little bit of English then met the director who is pretty intimidating. But they came across as being extremely honoured and humbled that EWH would choose their hospital to go to. The BMET took us on a tour around the hospital and immediately I realised that this hospital was fucking LEGIT. Everything was spotless in Cambodian standards and there were cleaners everywhere constantly mopping something. They had proper patient beds and like all the rooms were super organised and the paperwork was filed really well. SHOOOK cus the hospitals we visited in the first month were nothing like that. THIS MEANT THAT THERE WASN'T GOING TO BE MUCH TO FIX F M L

We passed the mental health office and they gave us a scale to fix but there was nothing wrong with it, just the leg had popped off so we popped it back on and gave it back to them lmfao. look at us using our engineering knowledge.

We visited the equipment graveyard and there was like barely anything in there. Amy thought it was a good idea to pick the oldest looking piece of equipment to have a go at. We opened the oxygen concentrator and so much degraded black foam came flying out. We tried to figure out what was wrong for like 1.5 hours but then we kinda gave up cus it had already passed 20,000 hours of use meaning the zeolite crystals would probs be fucked anyway.
when you start getting so hungry in cambodia you think the wall is cake.
jks lol we were trying to test the % O2 that the concentrator was outputting.

We went to lunch at the fucken dodgiest dirtiest restaurant i've seen in Cambodia. Why did we think it was gonna be a good idea? Idk.

THEN we got an ultrasound!! We plugged it on and tried to press it into our arm to test it but it wasn't showing anything so we used some hand sanitizer for the conductive gel and YO YOU COULD SEE MY BELLY.
Then we got called downstairs to repair this blood analyser. The lab was super clean but there were so many samples of blood that had malaria labelled on them JOM REAP LEA. IDk what we did but it somehow worked after fiddling with it for a little bit HAHAHA. Cool.
Cleaned the ultrasound a little bit afterwards then went back to the cafe in the morning to get some drinks and a croissant.
Went home exhausted as fuk then had dinner and spoke to the homestay fam for a little bit. Amy was feeling sick again so she kinda left earlier lmfao but idm I get to play with the kids more. The little girl is so fkn cute o m g

Called my madre who I had not talked to in too long

Day 2

Woke up exhausted as fuck cus the night before, Amy was calling her boyfriend until like 11:30 pm and I wanted to kill someone. Then the dogs started barking outside smhmhmhmhm.

Got a lift to the new Ly Hout restaurant by the nice uncle dude who speaks a lil english. I literally know no one's name. ANYWAY, ly hout was sooooooooooooooo good!!! Apparently it only opened one month ago but fk its so good.
Then walked to the hospital and our BMET said he had to visit another rural hospital today so we basically had nothing to do....

We got called downstairs but a doctor to fix some sterilization machines. They are basically big fat pressure cookers lmfao.
The alarm wasn't working on the first one so we took of the front case and couldn't figure out what was wrong. When we put it back together it worked. SO UMMMMMMMM
then we looked at another one that had another issue with the timer but we couldn't fix it so we just taped some masking tape on it and wrote a big fat X. The sterilization machines are actaully so scary cus they build up sooooooooo much pressure and they're so big. When u let out the steam, it hisses so loud you have to cover your ears.

Then had lunch at Ly Hout AGAIN and Amy was dying from her period pain so we decided that I just go back after lunch and she could rest at home. Got this big boi for $3 but barely ate half of it before I felt so sick and had to run to bathroom to shit. Haven't shit since I got to Preah Vihear lmfao so I'm trying to eat more veges now.
Went back to homestay, took a nap, then went back to hospital. Tried to fix the wheels of the IV pole and like literally got so tired, broke one of the wheels then gave up. J'ai morale à zero. Ort kom lang.

Then did some paperwork and walked back to homestay. Hung out with my only friend, the little girl and then had a WIESoc meeting with my directors. Did some WIESoc stuff, then had such a good dinner ahhh. THEIR COOKING HERE IS LIKE 10/10. Had some flavourful egg omelette and some soup with greens. Then Kaka brought out some honeydew like dessert thing with milk which was 9/10. Could've been sweeter XD but so good.
nOW i'm just sitting in bed. Amy just hung up on her boyfriend and ugh i cannot stand her cute voice when she talks to him ofmgaldkjf;alsjkdf;asdf

also this song is a banger. good.
